   The star! After watching The Bardock Special, I felt Bardock had so much potential. He could be an incredibly dynamic charcater if made a series for. Sort of a DB prequel.   So I first wrote a short novel called "The Last Days of Planet Vegeta" about five years ago.
    By the time I finished that story, its sequeal (DragonballUF), and had worked on the final part (DragonballE), I felt even I had overlooked Bardock's mysterious past. In the aformentioned works, Bardock hates taking about his childhood because it was so painful. Born at such a low poer level, I knew he'd been picked on in a society so driven by war. It wasn't until the end of DBE that I decided to go back and work on Bardock's past.
    His personality changed almost dramatically as I worked on the weekly episodes I wrote for FF.N!! Plus, I made sure there was a REASON for his silence, i.e. the pain of losing Cole and Zucina. I also made sure he'd be a lot more like Goku then in the special.
    Whenever I watched TBS, I thought of "It's My Life" by Jon Bon Jovi. Its Bardock's theme!

   While drawing a pic of Bardock off the DVD a couple years ago, my brother asked if he could draw with me. We both drew the same scene, but halfway through, he got frustrated and announced he'd make up a Sayin from the style. Thus, he created Cole!
    In order to make him his own character, Dan made him "Chile's" father. *sigh* My brother has such an ego!
    As I wrote, one of the things I began to respect most about Cole was his wisdom, and his willingness to teach others his father's ultimate techniques. He may be determined to destroy Rubaru, but it did not make him prejudiced against Tora. ^_^
    If Cole had a theme, It's most likely be "He Lives In You" from The Lion King broadway musical.

   There I was, lying in bed, trying to think up stories Bardock could tell Bra (its in DBE), when I considered who Bra exactly was: a young, innocent girl who would probably like normal bedtime stories. So, I tried to think up a Sayin Cinderella. But what if the woman was a real person? She'd have to be a real princess . . . related to Vegeta!
    I woke Dan up, in the middle of the night, and started talking out my plans for this new character. (Whether Dan was awake by then end didn't matter.) Her looks and persona were a snap! A combo of Vegeta and Trunks, with a hint of Xena, Warrior Princess!! As for the cross-dressing ..... I have no clue where that came from! Probably her feminist attitude.
    Her theme is "Bad Reputation" from Shrek

Family: Rubaru (father), the rest of his family is mentioned, but never seen

   Nothing much to say on Tora except I wanted him as a comic relief. The Bardock Special never really went into his character, but since he made a joke before the end, I figured he might be a jokster! Sort of a "Ron Weasly", for you Harry Potter fans.
    The fued between him and Cole's family was a way to link the white scarf from Cole to Tora to Bardock, displaying a chain of events that was out of their control. More on that in symbolism. But the inspiration for that fued came from the scarf. It also never mentioned in the special that Tora was particularly close to Bardock. I figured they would be!
    Possible theme for him would be "Life is just a Bowl of Cherries" from Fosse.
