WARNING: Remember, I don't believe in these. All of the information below was from my extrapilation from mythology, other religions, various sci-fi and fantasy books, anime, and my own imagination.
The most common type of energy, spirit, a.k.a. ki or chi, comes from the philosophy that all things have souls. The soul gives off an energy, called one's "Life Force", that radiates according to conciousness, passion, and emotion.
Meditating is a form of excersising one's ki. By calming the mind and relaxing the body, a spirit can gain more harmony between their dark, violent emotions and their light, passive emotions. As most martial arts masters know, the Yin/Yang represents these conflicting forces in a constant, never ending battle, but perfectly equal in strength.
Martial artists believe that if a perfect harmony is achieved, they have the ability to control this energy into a physical, tangible presence. Many are able to use their own ki as a weapon in battle, formulating trademark attacks.
Cole is an example of strickly-ki-usage. He meditates and is extraordinarily powerful. The Solar Strike is his trademark move.

Uncommon but powerful, the use of magic manipulation dates back to before the creation of the first mortal. Magic energy takes years of practice and centuries of development. Witches, wizards, monks, demons, and other spectral beings are most likely to use this energy. Magicians must be fully confident in their actions. A magician is only as powerful as their will, taking much of their force from personal concentration. The biggest difference between Spirit and Magic is that Magic uses other's energy against their will.
While ki can be developed alone, magic requires a mentor or guidance of some kind in order to master it. Unfortunately, most spells are for dark purposes.
Not all magic is dark however. Zucina's Idsa Sword was forged in magic fire, and bonded to only those of her blood. It amplifies not only her ki, but magical abilities. Her confidence increase this.

Only a few are blessed with this powerful, terrible gift. All creatures have a very small amount of psychic energy (insight, intuition, but only five true psychics can use their energy to see visions clearly. When the true psychic's life is almost up, they must transfer their powers to another life form, or it will be lost forever. This is the reason there are so few; they are dying out.
The Juste Miriar is the most powerful, and can see possible strategies and paths for upcoming events. The Cedavar Mirar witnesses and often experiences upcoming deaths. The Pietas Mirar can distinguish those whom Una and Uno have influence over. The Ovicula Mirar is able to convert souls to either good or evil. The Instribo Mirar can see all that has been and all that will be. None are allowed to warn others about what is to come, but can influence events through actions (or hints).
True psychics, if trained, convert their mind abilities to physical form. These attacks are only as strong as the psychi's concentration and mind power.
In DBBC's third season, Bardock gains his psychic powers from the last Juste Mirar, but dies before understanding how to use it. Able to keep his body, he trains with these abilities, and becomes more powerful with psychic then ki.
