I love the picture below...Maria, hands on hips, looking at Hunter, like "WHAT are you doing?"  (It wasn't long before she was down in the dirt with him. :)

I am looking at my little list of words for Maria.  Wow.  I cannot BELIEVE how many words she knows.  Today we heard "Silly", "milk", "GG" (my great grandmother's nickname), and "go". I probably heard others, but those are the ones that stick out to me.  She is learning words so very quickly.  However, it is still a guessing game when you ask her questions.  Her "no" doesn't necessarily mean "no" (unless someone is trying to pick her up:) and her "Yeah" doesn't necessarily mean "yeah".  The life with a toddler...

Let's see...what are some other tricks she knows.  Oh, she loves to sing "Eency weency spider" though you wouldn't know it except for the hand motions.  And Maria LOVES to help with the laundry and the dishes.  Her main job in the house (whether asked or not) is to go around and shut all of the doors.  And her favorite toy is by far the baby doll.  Any baby doll.  She loves to carry them around the house, rock them, push them in their "stroller".  I am often putting Maria to bed and have to move a baby doll who is already sleeping in the bed.  It is just so fun watching her grow and develop.  Notice I did not say "easy".  Having a two year old is NOT an easy job.  But the rewards are great.

Well, I should write more, but I am running down. I am apparently HIGHLY allergic to one of the many things floating in the air this time of year.  I sneeze often (and Maria says "ACHOO" when I do), and my head feels clogged.  I better get a hot bath and go to bed early (before midnight).  Thank you for checking in on us!

Do you think Maria wants to be in the nice toddler swing I got for her?  No!  She wants to be in a big swing like her big sister. Oh well, it got a few days of use out of it.

It was a LONG day for me.  How about you?

Apparently, Maria was a little "spirited" today.  She was just in a "mood".  Not a bad mood, but not an angelic mood either.  Just a "spirited" mood for lack of a better word.  She was also in a climbing mood both at Grams' house and here.  Unfortunately, I don't think she has had many opportunities to climb, so she isn't necessarily good at it.  I have to say though, she is a tough cookie.  She does NOT like to cry when she falls.  Tonight she wasn't sitting on the couch (like we have told her to do many times) and she slid off of it and hit her head on the coffee table.  After a minute or two of crying, I heard this funny noise coming from her.  She was trying to MAKE herself stop crying.  (That doesn't hold true ALL of the time.)  It was kind of sad to watch.

Maria continues to learn lots of words.  I know I heard many words today, but I really don't remember what they are.  The one that does stick out is "Hunter".  She will say that fairly well.  (She is recently starting to interact with him more.)  Now if I can just get her to understand that I AM MAMA.  She uses the word "mama" alot but not for me. :(  Oh, and help.  We are really trying to get her to use that too.  She grunts, gestures, cries, etc. but she refuses to say "Help".

I don't think I mentioned the other day but I am very thankful to a couple of friends who e-mailed or wrote to say that some of the behaviors I see with Maria and separation issues are behaviors they see in their own toddlers.  Hearing things like that makes me feel a LOT better.

Once again, I am wiped out and in need of a little sleep.  I better get some things ready for tomorrow and then head to bed.  We continue to be grateful for all of your prayers, encouragement, etc.  I am amazed at the progress we have made in six weeks and look forward to where we are in six more weeks.  Have a great day tomorrow!

This will be a short one tonight.  It is only Wednesday, but it sure feels like a Friday.  This up and down weather wreaks havoc on children's behavior...both here and at school. :)

We had a good day.  Maria said some more words today, like her own name!  Now the only one left for our household is Lauren's name.  Of course, Lauren takes it very personally that Maria cannot or won't say her name.  But hopefully it will happen soon!

I just had to include a picture of the kids in their "fuzzies".  They have just been waiting for a cool night to wear them.  Now getting them to sit still on the couch and smile together...that was not easy...

Please pray for tomorrow...it is D Day.  (Day Care Day)
