(Romans 2:28 & 29) You must learn your heritage. You must know what you are an heir of. We are a part of the family of God. This Jesus who was born of a virgin, born of a woman, bound under the law, was begotten not as Adam the first was from the dust of the ground. Jesus was begotten as the only begotten, which means, that, He was the only one the Father could beget. The Father made one that failed, but He had only one begotten. God never had another son anywhere. By God's standards, Jesus was begotten. He was conceived by the Spirit of the Holy Ghost. "And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God?' (Luke l.35) The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of the slam Lamb. There cannot be a ghost unless something has died. This thing knits very closely and ties right into the first Adam, because Jesus came to raise that which was fallen. And Jesus became, although He had not done or committed sin, the sin of the whole human race. Can you imagine what it must have felt like for Jesus to bow in the garden of Gethsemane, knowing that the moments were going by fast, that He had appointed before the world's beginning, when He would tread the winepress alone! "I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment2' (Isaiah 63:3) When God, the only begotten of the Father, would have to go where the first man Adam had fallen, and there was no way to get there except to commit sin or be made sin. So, God, had made Himself a body that could not sin and His body lived a law that no man could live. Jesus lived it perfectly. By God's own law, if you could live that law, you would live forever in it and never be threatened with disease or death. Jesus lived it perfectly and with a perfect life, He went and offered His perfect life and became the sin of the world through the offering of Himself - The Word made flesh. |
