How many people are coming, Dana? Scully grinned at the sound of Mulder saying her first name.
Well, Im not too sure, but I hear that Bill cant come this year, because he caught the flu. A passerby wouldnt be able to tell, but when he looked at those words come out of her mouth, it looked like she was about ready to jump for joy.

Good ol Bill? Aw, we might as well just stop the party. But you know your mother will make us resume the celebrationknowing thatthats what Bill would want. He faked a little sniffle, and Scully just about burst into laughter.

Want to help me pick out some music to get us into the holiday mood? She walked towards the living room, and Mulder, without even thinking, followed her over there. By the time he entered into the room, Scully was all ready by the wall unit, browsing through the CDs.

Mulder chuckled. Hmmmdo you have Elmos Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer? Scullys answering laugh brought a shiver to him.

We have Edie Brickell, Nat King Cole, andFleetwood Mac? What the hell is Fleetwood Mac doing in Holiday Favorites? She set the CD aside and continued searching through the drawer. Oh, lets just go with Bing Crosby singing all your Holiday Favorites'.

::Youre all I want for Christmas
and if all my dreams come true::

Hi Maggie! Oh, its so good to see you! More guests were coming by the minute.

Hi Dana! Its been a while since Ive seen you, you look great! Who do you have with you? A silver-haired woman came in and greeted Dana.
Oh, hi Laura! This is my parfriend, Mulder. Do you need a hand with these, Laura? Dana pointed towards the presents in the womans hands.
Yes, thank you very much. She handed her the gifts, and Scully set them underneath the tree.
Where do you two know eachother from, Scully? Mulder was a bit confused, seeing all of these unfamiliar faces.
Oh, shes a friend of my moms. I havent seen her for years. Hey Laura, is Bob with you?
Yes, hes getting things out of the trunk. We brought a whole lot of goodies. She smiled proudly. She was obviously excited to be here.
Bob is? Mulder was still a bit confused.
Her husband, Mulder.

Mulder decided to sit on the sofa and let everyone come to him, it was a bit confusing trying to get to know all these people at once.

Hey Dana, good to see you! An older mans voice called to her. Later, he came into view, and Scully greeted him with a hug. Wait- my eyes deceive me no. It is true. Scully has actually hugged someone.
After greeting a few other people, Scully took her seat next to Mulder.

Bing Crosby, eh? You dont get to hear a lot of him anymore. The older man, Bob, promptly sat himself on the sofa across from Mulder and set his hat on the arm-rest.

Cookies, anyone? Samantha came in and hosted the growing number of people with holiday cookies. Seemed everyone flocked towards her at the sound and smell of cookies.

Hi Bob. Cookie? She held up the tray and let him pick. Oh, Bob, I just realized- a bird decided to let all out on your hat. Everyone laughed at the joke, and Samantha offered to clean it for him.
Sweetest thing, she is. Bob looked at the design on the cookie, then slowly ate it. Mmm, these are good. Did they just get out of the oven?

They sure did, Stephanie said, emerging into the living room to greet everyone. She must have greeted about 16 people before she finally uttered the words everyone had been waiting for all night.

Okay, dinner is =finally= ready, you can all take your seats in the dining room. She led everyone to the eating area.
Mulder and Scully were the last ones to get up. As they walked into the dining room, Scully happened to look upmistletoe.

Ooo, somebody finally noticed! Maggie said as she set the Rotisserie Chicken in the center of the table. Okay, you two, pucker up!
Everyone started their whispering and staring, waiting to see whatll happen.

Mulder looked up and saw the little sprig of green hanging by its red ribbon above their heads. He looked back down at Scully, her eyes luminous.

They knew there was no escape.

Well? said Samantha. She was holding her glass of soda pop in her hand, not willing to move, in case she should miss something.

Scully arched her eyebrows when she saw Mulder trying to lean in, and they both giggled. Then he came in further, and she set her palms on his cheeks, sharing a soft, brief, and undemanding kiss.

Everyone cheered when their lips met. Scully could swear her mother was the loudest of them all.

She released him and looked up to see his face. They were both smiling.

Merry Christmas, Mulder.

The End
The mystery is yours to solve as for what were in those Christmas presents.
