Scully struggled with the can of Coconut Milkwhy wouldnt this damn thing open? Heres the electric can opener, Dana. Scully saw Samantha standing on the other side of the kitchen, pointing to the electronic can opener below the cupboards.

Oh yeahI knew that. She dropped her hand-held can opener and went to the electric one. Samantha rushed off to help her mother get the giblets out of the chicken, when suddenly; the can opener went bzzrk. It looked like the can was stuck, and the machine was going crazy. Within seconds, blue sparks were flying across the kitchen. Get down!! Samantha cried as she dived under the table.

B-O-O-M

Parts of the machine went flying across the kitchen, but the can went soaring through the air and crashed into the wall. The milk went everywhere.

Crap. Let me clean it up for you. When Scully stood up, she looked like a train wreck. Milk soaked, flour covered, hair wrecked, and small bits of debris in her hair and resting on her shoulders.

Margaret ran into the kitchen. Whats going on? It sounded like something exploded in here Then she noticed Scullys appearance. She looked past Scully and saw the kitchen looked like a war zone. Expecting Margaret to be mad with her, Scully hung her head low. Instead, Margaret just laughed hysterically. She laughed so hard she could barely breathe. Oh golly, let me clean this up for you. Pretty soon, all of them started laughing.

Scully emerged out of the kitchen. Did I just hear a knock on the door? Margaret stifled a small smile.
I dont know, let me see. As Margaret turned around and walked towards the front door, her smile widened. Margaret could tell that she was eager to see Fox. Fox should be here any minute too, it was almost 5.

Margaret answered the door and saw Fox standing at the porch, his smile genuine but weary. Why, there is somebody here! Hi Fox! Merry Christmas! She greeted him with a hug, pleased when he warmly returned the embrace. Merry Christmas to you, Mrs. Scully. She noticed he had two small presents and a bottle of champagne as well. Well well, lookie here. She widened her smile. Let me take these for you and get out of your way. With that, she let Fox inside.

How are you doing, Mrs. Scully? He took his coat off and set it on the sofa.
Oh, Im doing just fine, just waiting for the others to get here. I hope the weather wasnt too cold for you, it looks like it might snow soon. Fox, Im going to be placing your presents here under the tree, in case you get worried.

Oh yeah, thats fine. His eyes browsed the house, scanning for Scully. Where is your lovely daughter, by the way?
As he spoke, he heard a beautiful crystal laugh coming from the kitchen. Was that Scully? Hed never heard her laugh like that.
Shes in the kitchen helping outor goofing around, I cant tell. Im sure you can find your way. She smiled at his formality.

As he turned to walk away, he heard the doorbell ring. Ill be getting that, why dont you go say hi to the girls? Danas been wanting to see you. Margaret stuck to that thought and smiled at him with hidden pleasure, then hurried towards the door.

Knock knock. Mulder peeked in. Scully was licking the frosting off her fingers, leaning against the back counter with a little girl who was doing the same.

Oh hi, Mulder! Come here, I want you too meet some new friends of mine. This is Stephanie. Stephanie, this is Mulder She pointed towards the woman who was doing the finishing touches of the cake. Hi Mulder. Merry Christmas to you! She gave a nervous laugh.
Merry Christmas to you too. His eyes were fixed on the cake she was making. What kind of cake is that?
Youll find out soon enough, Scully said, licking the last bit of frosting off her fingers. She looked like a ten-year-old girl. And this is her daughter, Samantha.

Samantha, eh? he said, kneeling down to her. And a merry Christmas to you. Im Mulder. Samantha smiled, and gave him one of the many cookies she baked. Merry Christmas to you, too. She did bear a slight resemblance to his sister, in both personality and appearance. She had the cutest little apron on her, too. It was all messy from baking and cooking. Shes 12. Scully added.

Mulder knelt up and turned around to face Scully. She was all covered with baking powder too.

Everythings just about done Dana, why dont you visit your friend for a while? Samantha and I can finish up for you. Scully loved her accent; she never really got to hear one quite like hers before.

You sure? Scully looked around at all the mess in the kitchen.
Absolutely. Now hurry before I change my mind, Stephanie said laughing.
