There is gorss enlargement of both ovaries, Cross section of the tumor shows a sglistening appearance, suggestive of mucin but there are no apparent cystic spaces.  The microscopic appearance shows numerous round clear spaces which appear to be inside cells, pushing the nucleus of the cell out towards the periphery.  This is the term given to this appearance?

Another picture of the same cells is shown below.... These cells arise in another organ  - which?  The name given to this tumor is?
This is a section of the stomach wall, the peritoneal covering is apparent on the upper part of the picture.  The cells here show a similar appearance to those of the previous picture - abundant material in the cytoplasm pushing the nucleus to one side. These are signet ring cells and are derived from mucus secreting cells of the gastric glands.  The contained material is mucin.  The ovarian tumor is a Krukenberg tumor.
