Fashion Dos and Donts for Wizarding Men
By DJ Diggory
When dressing yourself in the morning, dont think of the boring traditional look, think of something which will make you stand out. This season Black is out and Royal Blue is in for males. Try wearing a royal blue open shirt with a white t-shirt accompanied by dark robes on the bottom. This outfit gives you the WoW factor you will need. Here are some simple Hot and Nots of the fashion world
Hot: Backwards cap (sends the ladies flying)
Open Shirts with a light t-shirt underneath
Flicked Hair, Ladies dont like men with longer hair than them
Not
: Baggy Robes
Light shoes with a dark robe
Horizontal stripes (they make you look fat) |

Music and Hufflepuff
By Darby Queally
Recently I conducted a poll in the Hufflepuff common room to see what kind of music those lovable badgers listen to. While I tried my best to include a variety of music, somewhere not mentioned. Out of those that were however, it seems that Badgers are most likely listening to Rock music! No surprise there! Rock is the music of the soul, in this Huffies opinion! We will carry on with our music and pose one question....what music are you listening to? |

Girls Summer Fashions!
By: Kelsie Mcgonnagle
That's right everyone you heard correctly! Summer is here, the time where we start pulling apart our closets looking for clothes you wore last year that still fit cause you haven't started shopping yet. Well, it's good to know what to look for and what is HOT this season when you're shopping and I can tell you exactly what to look for!
You start by knowing what stores are really popular shopping spree destinations. Aeropostale, Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, and American Eagle are really good examples. That's where you can find all the clothes you need to look hot and stay cool this summer!
Next you need to know the four S's; shirts, shorts, shoes, and swim wear! Easy enough to remember? Well plaid shorts are IN right now, people wear them all the time and they are even appropriate length for school, in case you have a camp that's at your school with a dress code! Undershirts are also really important and a lifesaver, because the shirts that are in right now are anything the stores I listed above sell, as long as they have the store name and logo written on them. All the shirts are see-through and that's why undershirts are so popular right now....they also show off your figure! As for shoes, Flip-Flops are always IN for summer! It's a given! Also sandals and those foamy feeling shoes with holes in the top are in, just don't ask what they're actually called cause I can't find the actual name. Swimsuits, EASY! Bikinis! That's really all you need to know, they will always be a favorite for the girls and guys! But there has been another trend noticed lately with the suits that have skirts over the bottom part. They are really cute and fun to wear!
So if you haven't been summer clothes shopping yet, remember, it's all about destination and the four S's. If you follow all these tips you're sure to impress the guys and all your friends! Happy shopping everyone! |

CAUGHT IN THE ACT!
By Ronald Weasley
Im sure at one point or another everyone at Hogwarts has wondered how Professor Lockhart keeps his charming image on a regular basis. Well, I decided to find out for myself, and believe me when I tell you; it isnt easy for him to keep that face handsome all day long.
Lockhart starts his beautification process by first putting on a very lovely red, silky nightgown, and fuzzy pink bunny slippers. Then, he puts hair curlers in his hair and lets them sit there for a good two hours. While he waits for the hair curlers to do their job, he puts on a face mask to keep his face clear from pores. When he puts the mask on, he doesnt forget the classic kiwi over the eyes routine.
Once the hair curlers have done their job, Lockhart strips away the facial mask covering up his now pore-less face as well as removes the kiwi over his eyes. He immediately gets to work on pouring tons and tons, gallons and gallons of mousse and grease in his hair like the stuff is going out of style. Now Ive found out where the good tax payers money is going.
Once he makes sure his hair is perfect, he then uses a whitening packet that makes his teeth pearly white. I couldnt see what the rest of his beautification process involved because after his teeth became pearly white, his teeth reflected off of his mirror and blinded me. |

Hufflepuff Smiles...A lot
By Harmony Hill
It has always been known to the members of Hogwarts that Professor Gilderoy Lockhart never posts anything without his infamous smilies. He seems to have a pocketful of them, which never runs out. People marvel over how he can never be tired of using too many smilies. The Professor prides himself at this unique skill and it might just be a while before he is challenged.
Now, the students of Hufflepuff seem to be following this trend though. Whether it is unconsciously or consciously smilies are seen in every thread and post. Students can be seen competing with the King of Smilies (otherwise known as Professor Lockhart) over who can post the most smilies. There is even a game made up to have included smilies in between sentences.
I think the students are preparing themselves to rival Professor Lockhart and he might just get a run for his money soon by a few. As of now, however, he remains the King of Smilies. |

A Hufflepuffs First Look
Submitted by Samantha Davis
As I boarded the Hogwarts Express and looked back at my parents, I felt sad that I wouldn't be seeing them until the next holiday. I was rather attached to my family, and still am. Still, I was very excited about going to a new place; a school for the magically gifted. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry was the exact name of it. I waved goodbye to my parents, and waited until they were no longer out of sight to begin smiling. I loved them and didn't want them to know just how excited I was. I expect they already knew because I am horrible at keeping my feelings bottled up, especially when I am excited. Anyway, on with the Hogwarts school itself. It was way more fascinating than the train ride.
I had finally arrived at Hogwarts and followed the other first years into the castle. Oh, did I mention I arrived there by boat? Yes, Hogwarts has its very own lake, which is how the first years arrive to the castle. We get our very first glimpse of the castle itself, and let me tell you, it's amazing, really. The castle itself is very huge...and very tall! It's like a skyscraper or something! I took pictures to show my family when I see them again. I also can send it to them by owl, which is very helpful for contacting them while I'm here. Hogwarts also has its very own Forest. Amazing, right? And you wouldn't believe all the creatures living in there. Then again, you may have never even heard of them.
Now, for inside the castle. The main entrance, called the Entrance Hall, is all lit up with torches. Neat, no? And The Great Hall is pretty awesome. That's the place where we eat. It's bewitched to look like the sky outside, which is pretty amazing really. I don't know how they do it, older Witches and Wizards, I mean. They perform all kinds of magic, and yet, I can't even manage to brew a proper Potion. Maybe within time, I'll get the hang of this magical stuff.
Once inside The Great Hall, the first years are sorted into their House, which is the group they will be spending the time with the most. They are like your family for the school term. I was sorted into Hufflepuff, and have grown to love it in such a short amount of time. Really, I truly believe Hufflepuff is the best house ever. All the other Hufflepuffs were so welcoming. Soon after being sorted, there were all sorts of notes, candy, and Butterbeer in my locker to welcome me! I love my fellow Housemates. |
