My Gran Torino was built on May 26, 1972 in Oakville, Ontario.  It has the 302 2V V8 engine (140hp), FMX  three speed automatic transmission, and eight inch rear end with 2.79:1 gear ratio.  The color is 4S light green, which was a new color for the '73 models but my '72 was special ordered with the color late in the '72 model year.

The car was bought new at Bill Hackett Ford in Freeland, Michigan.  I got the car in 1995 and it only had 74,000 miles on it. I replaced entire brake system, changed the lifters, oil pan, timing chain cover, timing chain and gears (Double roller, timing advanced 5.5 degrees), fuel pump, left exhaust manifold, all engine gaskets, repainted the engine, added a 3 core radiator (1 core original), and added new wheels and tires.  I also added a Kenwood tape deck.  The exhaust is dual 2.25" with Thrush Turbo Tubes and a Pertronix Ignitor electronic ignition.  The car was repainted in the original Light Green color.  Odometer now reads 81,500 miles.
The car has won one award, The Gene Bordinant Memorial Award in 1999 at the St. Ignace Car Show in St. Ignace, Michigan.
