Not quite top quality but a fair handicapper who won one race in Season Four.
Despite her limitations we have been pleased that we have managed to get four victories from this tough little filly. Has won at 1m and 1m6f.
A stable star. Won her maiden and was given a chance in a Group race and won the Group 2 Juvenile Mile. Then won the Group 1 National Stakes. As a 3yo she won the Group 1 Irish 1000 Guineas and was 2nd in the Group 1 Prix Jockey Club and also 2nd in the Irish Oaks. We think we overraced her as a 2yo and 3yo and regret that not training her to her full potential has limited her chances against the older horses in subsequent seasons. However she did spring a surprise in winning a Group 1 race on the dirt in week 10 of season 5.
An average sprinter who does best when the sun is out. One win as a 2yo and very little since then.
We quickly realised that Mayfly was never going to win a race especially after an escaped tiger bit off one of her back legs and she was quickly dropped into handicap company and has rarely been in contention. But she tries her best.
