Tekailla was between six and eight months of age. She managed to enchant her grandmother and her uncle in rather short order. Tarik stayed at the hall with his tiny daughter for a couple of sevendays before deciding to leave.
Mailli, knowing there was a huge storm coming refused to let Tarik leave and take her grand-child with him. It was her steadfast refusal to allow the babe to be put aboard a ship that was foolishly taken out ahead of the storm that saved the girl's life. Tekailla is now three Turns of age. She is taking to the harper lessons well and has learned to both write and sign adequately. Tekailla's dangerously high fever when she was still only days old took her hearing. She is fortunate to retain her vision.
