How I made this site

SERVER:
THINGS YOU WILL NEED
-Internet (preferably dsl, or cable)
I am not going to go into deep detail on how this site was made, but I am going to tell what programs I used to make this site. Making a web page doesn't need a lot of programs, but you do need a server.

Step 1 Get a server
-There are a lot of free severs out there, I happened to use
Yahoo (geocities) and you can sign up for a free acount at geocities.com
-other free servers: angel fire, xanga
-Geocities provides online web tools that you do not need to download, but rather you use them online.

Step 2 Uploading
-all the pictures and files you see on my site have been uploaded from my desktop to geocities server. It is like an online desktop where all files are in your personal online folder.
-you can only use
jpeg and gif file images only. If you have bitmap images you want to use, you must convert them into jpeg or gif files
-your free server only allows you to upload a maximum of 16 mb and this includes pictures, info files, and the actual webpages themselves. If you want or need more room you will have to pay for larger storage.
PICTURES
THINGS YOU WILL NEED:
-saved photos
-digital camera (optional)
-Paint (program)
-Jasc Paint shop pro 8 (or any other photo editor
I have a digital camera so I upload those images to my computer from the camera. From there I could do anything to them. I used an photo editor call paint shop pro 8 by jasc. That wasn't the only photo editor I used, I also used Paint, which pretty much all computers have. The main reason I used Paint was as a cheat picture converter. If you make something in Paint and save it then it is saved as a bitmap file. To change bitmap into jpeg is really simple. First open up Paint. Find any picture that is a jpeg file and click and drag it into paint. The picture should come up. Now find the bitmap picture that you want to convert and click and drag that into paint over the jpeg picture. All you have to do now is save as, and name it and now it is a jpeg file. If the pictures sizes are not the same, just fix it to your likings.
HELPFUL INFO
-If you want to spice up your site and make it cool, you can use DHTML which is an advanced form of html. try here
www.dynamicdrive.com
-Read about Html, Dhtml, Java and web making. Even if you don't use them it still helps.
