Ah, the memories:
My old headshot
Too bad I'm not still 23... heh heh...

newer picJeff's latest news...

3/27/2009 It's been a little while since this was updated (and this "new" look is really kinda boring and bland, regardless of how much better it is than the previous version).

Heather is still my roomie for a few more months (she has been, off and on, for a year and a half). Theo is still a little schizophrenic, though he seems to be mellowing with age.

I updated my my work resume (in PDF format), in case you want to see why I'm always making excuses about being busy.. Kinda scary, I've been approached by one of my international coalitions and asked if I will do one of the kick-off presentations at the next annual convention. As the budget is still up in the air here in KC, and none of us are terribly secure in our jobs, I haven't yet been granted permission. Even so, to be invited is really cool.

10/13/2007 Well, looks like I have a roomie again, not sure if long or short-term. My buddy Heather has moved in, at least for a bit...

Theo seems to be taking to her well, though he does snub her while I'm in the room. He has had to go on a bit of a diet... being the consumate con-man, he would eat everything I fed him right away, then after I left for work he'd go and pretend that he was hungry, and as a result put on a few pounds. And he was no petite child before...

My career recently took a new twist... I have been formally named the Public Information Officer for the City of Kansas City, Mo., Health Department. I had been acting in that role in addition to my other duties, but the position is becoming official.

What is a public information officer? Basically it means that I am the media liaison and spokesperson for the department. In addition to maintaining the department's Web site, I carry a 24/7/365 media pager that has to be answered in 10 minutes, and I also represent 14 other area health departments.

And as you can tell if you've been here in the past, I'm COMPLETELY revising this site...

9/22-9/26/2007 I got to attend the annual convention of the National Public Health Information Coalition in Baltimore, Md. Stayed in the Hyatt on the Inner Harbor... great experience. I met and worked with colleagues from all over the country, as well as the Virgin Islands and the Republic of Palau. The pandemic flu PSAs that I edited and produced last fall in English and Spanish for TV and Radio received national recognition. The TV PSAs won the Gold Award/first place in the In-House TV Marketing category, and the radio PSAs took the Silver Award/second place in the In-House Radio Marketing category. Woohoo!
