The class 56s
These locomotives became known to Inverness when they were utilised on enterprises serivces just before the influx of GM class 66s from America.  Now very rare with only one 56 up at Inverness in the past two years; that being 56031 when it came up on an infrastructure train from Millerhill.
In these two pictures, 56031 is seen ready to depart with the 1330 6D46 to Mossend on 10th September 2001.  Many thanks to Simon Lazenby.  Cheers
During a spell between 1997 and 1999, class 56s were a regular sight in Inverness replacing unavailable class 37s and 47s.  It is because of this that we must give credit to them.
