First of all, Dumbledores army is a Harry Potter guild based on the 5th Harry Potter book, Order of the Phoenix. We have regular activites from the other books: classes, common rooms, the Great Hall, sorting, Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, etc. But the difference between this guild and other Harry Potter guilds, is we have D.A. Meetings. If you have not read the 5th Harry Potter book, you might be confused of these meetings. In these meetings, members can have certain positions (spy, duelist, safekeeper, etc.) that each has a job in beating our rival guild...which we don't have yet. Once we get a rival guild however, that is when our official meetings will begin.
If you are new to the guild, the first thing you want to do is get sorted. The guild website has the link to the sorting page, or you can click here. Once you take the quiz and neomail your results, Coviel will sort you within 1-2 days. If you do not have Parent Permission, or have not taken the quiz within 1-2 days, you will be sorted automatically. If you wish to be in a different house, neomail Coviel, and ask to be placed into a different house.
Questions:
2.)How can I earn points for my house? There are many ways to earn points, below is a list of ways to earn house points:
3.)What is the point of earning house points? At the bottom of the guild front page, there is a chart with the listings of house points. The house that has the most points will be bolded. On the guild calendar, it is posted when the House Cup ends. On that day, the house with the most points wins and they recieve prizes and a party. All house points return to 0 on that day and we start over.
4.)What are some ranks I can work up to? If there is an opening with a council, head boy or girl, prefect, DA, or other position open, there will be a note under "Guild news" on the guild front page. If you want the position, there will most likely be a contest on the contest page. You must have all the qualities which may be something like: Are on everyday, have posted at least 30 messages, have recruited at least 1 member, etc. And you must complete the tasks, example: Neomail Amorai with a paragraph of why you should have this position, donate an item to prove your willingness to help, create a website to show your knowledge of this position, etc.
5.)How do I get in to my Common Room? First, neomail your Head of House and ask for the password to get in. (Use the word 'code' or 'p/w' as Neopets does not allow the word 'password' in neomails.) Your Head of House is one of the council members. Or on the Common Rooms page it says who is your Head of House. The Common Rooms page link is on the guild website front page, or click here.
6.)My Head of House isn't responding to any of my neomails! Your Head of House has many neomails to answer per day so it may take a few days for he or she to answer. Please be patient. However, if after several days of no answer, neomail Amorai, and she will give you the password or answer to your question.
7.)I have an idea for the guild. Who should I neomail? Neomail da_potter for any ideas you have. However if you have a quick suggestion, comment, problem, or solution, neomail Amorai, an example of this would be: "The layout isn't showing up; I can't see the text without highlighting it; Slytherin is supposed to have 8 more points, etc."
8.)How can I recruite more members? Recruiting members can earn you house points, help your ranks, and make the guild more fun. You can start by posting notices in the Chat Boards, list several main things the guild has, and make the title of the board eye-catching (~*~*~Dumbledores army~*~*~). Also, you can post your notice in a board that says "Guildless". A quicker, yet sometimes a difficult way, is to send invites. Click on 'Invite' on the guild sidebar. It will ask to enter a name, find someone at the chatboards, auctions, trades, etc. and enter their name. This way is often faster, yet sometimes you might recieve some rude messages afterwards, please disregard these.
9.)Where is the list of all the guild links? On the guild website, the first page has an image map, dropdown link, and a chart filled with all the links you can go to. Many links lead into a list of more links (Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, etc) and some lead to one fun activity. Explore all the links so you know where several guild activites are. ^_^
10.)Why can't I apply for council? The council positions include the Heads of Houses. If a Head of House leaves, there will be an open council position, but do not apply unless you have done the Head of House contest which will be up as soon as a new Head is needed.
11.)How can I become a teacher? If there is an opening in a teaching job, it will say so on the classes page. Neomail Amorai with the open position you want, and if you qualify, you may take that position. You will have to create a webpage with new lessons updated weakly and past lessons. There must be homework and tests once and a while. House points from these tests and assignments are earned according to however you want, but you still must follow the guidelines as written in the Teacher's Lounge.
12.)How can I contact Amorai if I don't have Parent Permission? You can e-mail her at [email protected] if you have e-mail.
13.)I have a suggestion, comment, complaint, or idea for a question for this page. Who should I contact? Neomail Amorai with your idea/comment for this page. Your question may be added to the list above or idea may be used. Or if you don't understand this page, neomail Amorai.
Thank you to all guild members who read all the way through this. Hopefully you had some of your questions answered here, and are ready to start school at Hogwarts. Or if you are not sure whether to join the guild or not, this page as helped your decision.
