Black, Mrs.
? - c. 1985
Mother of Sirius and Regulus, either very old (especially when you consider that her children were so much younger) or unnaturally aged. Mrs. Black believed in purity of wizard blood and on that basis favored her younger son, Regulus, who shared that philosophy and even became a Death Eater. Mrs. Black died c. 1985 and now survives only as a horrible, life-sized portrait hanging in the entrance hall on the ground floor of 12 Grimmauld Place, her old home. The portrait, hung behind moldy curtains, shows a screaming, unpleasant-looking old woman in a black cap, drooling, eyes rolling, and yellowing skin. She screeches a terrible epithet at anyone who disturbs her Kreacher worships her.
Black, Narcissa
(unknown character)
Black, Regulus
(c. 1961? - c. 1980?)
Younger brother of Sirius, favored by his parents as he shared their pureblood prejudices, to the point that he joined the Death Eaters. Voldemort saw to it that Regulus, for one, didn't have a chance to 'pull a Pettigrew', and that he did indeed die before betraying his cause.
Regulus = 'the little king'; a star in Leo (Remember Sirius' comment that his family thought that to be a Black meant you were practically royal.)
Black, Sirius
c. 1960 - June 1996
Sirius = 'searing, scorching'; the Dog Star, brightest star in Earth's night sky
