| One of the most important things in refinishing furniture is setting aside enough time to do the project. Stripping furniture does not require much skill but does require a lot of your time. Also, learn to be patient when doing your project, especially if it is a large object. You need to allow plenty of time to complete the stripping in one day, and allow for drying times for any finishes you will apply. When you are first learning how to strip furniture you will need to start small and learn how your surface is going to react to the stripper and paint.
