JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS
1970-1971
CBS
This was the first of two Josie shows to hit the airwaves.  Simply put, this show followed Josie and the Pussycats around the world where they solved capers, performed musical numbers, and a whole bunch of other stuff that I don't want to go into too much detail that we'll be here all day.  But this show was a huge smash and won an audience.  It still airs on TV via Cartoon Network's offspring channel, Boomerang.

TRIVIA: Casey Kasem (aka Mr. Top 40) supplied the voice of Alexander Cabot III (The Pussycats' manager and a male version of Veronica-sans the southern accent).  Also Capitol Records released a Josie and the Pussycats album, much like what Don Kirshner did for The Archies on his Calendar/Kirshner label.  Cheryl Ladd (before her Charlie's Angels days) was on the album as the singing voice of Melody.
