    These two shows were the final nails in the coffin for the Filmation Era of Archie On TV.  Like 1973's Everything's Archie before it, these shows reaired previous episodes from earlier series's.  After ten years with Filmation, Archie Comics parted ways.  There wouldn't be any new Archie programing for nine years.  Then came The New Archies, but we'll save that for the DiC Era section.

TRIVIA: On The Simpsons, creator Matt Groening twice pays tribute to the Filmation version of the Archie characters.  First, in the episode where Sideshow Bob (played by Fraiser's Kelsey Grammar) runs for mayor of Springfield, just after Bart is kicked out of Bob's limo, Homer is kicked out of Archie's jalopy which had Archie and the gang inside who resembled the Filmation Era Archie characters.  Moose then warns Homer, "D-uh, stay out of Riverdale!" and then Archie drives off.  The second time was more recent.  In the episode where Springfield Elementary installed huge air conditioning units, Principal Skinner says, "Thanks to these new units, we've even seen student that we haven't seen in a long time." or something like that.  Just then, Jughead walks into Springfield Elementary!  He is followed by Fat Albert and The Fonz from Happy Days!!

WEBMASTER'S NOTE: Another one of my theories.  Did the rock festival Lalapalooza get its name from this very show The Bang-Shang Lalapalooza Show?  It's possible...
