Taking a deep breath, she responded."I know you two want answers but honestly I thought I'd never have to see either of you up close and personal ever again."
"Are you kidding? Grace and Howie have clung to each other since the word go,"AJ noted.
"The point is, I guess I never wanted to see you again."
"Now I know you're lying,"Nick addressed her.
"Little presumptuous don't you think?"
"I'm not talking about myself. I'm talking about the way you left things."
"The way I left things? Your dear friend here left a twenty on the bed as though I were nothing more than hired help. Now granted, it was just one night but I've never been treated that way before."
"So you've done this before?"AJ vocalized.
"Would you keep it down please? And no I haven't. I won't lie and tell you I've never been with anyone in my life before but I've never been with two men at the same time." Nick looked acrossed the table at AJ.
"You don't think I haven't noticed the eyes following me at this party tonight? I'm almost as big as the newly engaged couple around here only I'm the town slut according to the circle of gossip running around,"Cindy noted.
As they stared at her in astonishment, she tore into her purse to find Susan's picture."You want an answer to your question? Here's the answer to your question,"she dropped the picture on the table between the two as they battled for it finally agreeing to share.
Cindy found Grace with Howie."Look Grace this is a nice party and all but for your sake, I'm going to go ahead and go okay? This is your moment and you don't need me here. Not for this anyway,"she hugged Grace and politely bid goodbye to Howie.
Maybe she does have a heart after all he thought .

"Which way did she go?"AJ hurriedly addressed Howie.
"That way,"he pointed the direction she had gone and AJ was gone before he knew it.
"Cindy!"he shouted through the parking lot glimmering with yellow street lamp light.
She turned from her car door and was silent.
As he approached, her heart pressed in anticipation against her chest.
"It's his isn't it?"
