Chapter 12
Yet there she was in Orlando awaiting the arrival of who knows what kind of hush money to keep her set for the rest of her life she was sure. She still didn't know whom had gotten hold of the story but she intended to search the ends of the earth until she did find the one whom had taken her identity away. She was no longer Cindy, Susan's Mother; she was known as the evil woman whom had tarnished the reputations of their beloved Boys Nick and AJ. But come on people, do any of us really believe they're complete angels? They are human after all. They slip and fall like the rest of us and Cindy was no different in her beliefs until fate had dealt a somewhat unfortunate hand. If this had been two guys off the street, she wouldn't have blinked twice about the connection of whom the Father was. She probably wouldn't have cared. She didn't want to see these guys hurt just because they'd done her wrong. That wasn't the way she'd been brought up. She was just exploring her newfound sexual freedom and if people liked calling her a tramp or even perhaps a whore, then so be it. That was their business. They didn't know the real her inside; the part that mattered the most. She had left Susan with her parents until she could get this mess cleared up. It didn't look like it was gonna be anytime soon she realized as AJ entered the room."Hello Cindy,"he sat in the chair next to hers in front of the desk. "I thought this was just between me and the exec's?" "That's what we thought. Might I mention something though?" "What?" "You look absolutely beautiful today." She turned away from his compliment only be drawn back to the softness lying within his gaze. It was official. She was putty in his hands and there was no way to extinguish the flame burning within her very soul. But drawing herself back to reality was so easy as they were both jolted back by the sound of Nick's voice."I swear AJ could pick up a woman in a nunnery if they'd let him." "Hello Nick,"he turned glaring at Nick. "Thanks to you two, my life is no longer my own,"Cindy commented. "You were a willing participant in that little tryst as far as I can recall and loving every minute of it I might add." "You don't know when to stop do you?" "When we tell him to. Pipe down Mclean. Now Miss Adams,"as the portly gentleman seated himself comfortably across the desk from the three."We are willing to offer you 1.5 million to keep this story under wraps and sign a statement agreeing never to speak of the incident again."
"Mr. Donner. As generous as your offer is, I cannot accept it because I am not the one who told. Do I look like the kind of woman that was offered an atrocious amount of money for what could be the biggest story to date on this group? I didn't even want these guys to know of her existense. Why do you think I would blab something this great to the world with that in mind. Now if you'll excuse me." "You're not leaving this office Miss Adams until we have a deal." "Then I guess we're both gonna miss out on a lot of life aren't we?" "She's serious Hal,"AJ spoke up. "You keep quiet. She's holding out on us." "Don't do this. She's a decent girl who got wrapped up in a little fun one evening and surprise! she got pregnant like millions of women around the world do every year. The only reason this is such a big mess is because we became what we are, not the people we are." "Do you want more money sweetie. Is that it?" She turned to him."Mr. Donner, I am nobody's sweetie. I do not want your money. I just want my life back. I want to go back to taking care of my lovely little girl whom is being guarded closely by my parents. Now I love my daughter and you look like a family man yourself sir. Tell me something, would you want your child to go through all this hell?" "Well, no but we're talking about you." "That's right sir. So if you'll excuse me, I have some packing to do before I leave this evening. Thank you for your time."
