"Okay, what is going on with you?"
"When were you gonna tell me?"she slammed her purse down on the couch.
"Tell you what?"
"You wanna tell me why I've been walking around with a guilty conscience for weeks about having sex with your friend when I found out tonight that you were there too. Watching me!  God Howie!  Care to hide anything else from me?"
"Somehow I had a feeling you wouldn't take it quite so well. "
"How am I supposed to take something like this?!  It's like it never happened to you. Like it happens to you everyday.  I should have known when Liz said something about Susan."
"What are you doing bringing her into this?"
"Hopefully opening your eyes.  You say you love me but how can you love me when you do something like this to every woman you ever been intimate with."
"Because most of them didn't have a guilty conscience afterwards."
"So my guilty conscience is proof that I'll love you forever."
"It sounds good."
"Unbelievable!"a frustrated breath escaped her lips as her fingers gripped her golden curls."I can't do this. I was a fool to believe that you actually loved me."
"We're not talking about love Tamara."
"You're right because to tell the truth, you never did love me did you?  You just thought it'd be an easy way to explore your options I'm guessing.  Being the business man you are and all."
"That's not fair Tam."
"And what you did to me was?"knowing she was being every bit the hypocrite in this argument because somewhere deep down she had wanted him to catch  her in the act.
"No it wasn't.  I was being selfish and for that I'm sorry but if you think for one minute that I stopped loving you, you are welcome to walk out  of my life forever."
"Don't you pretend to be the hurt one here."
"You could have said no."
"And you could have stopped me,"she grabbed her purse shoving passed him.  She grasped the handle of the door with tears threatening to spill and he grabbed her free hand.  She turned to meet his gaze.  He looked truly desperate to hold onto what had started out as sweet and romantic that had only spiraled down into dirty and depraved.  Was he truly sorry for his actions?"Where will you go tonight?"his concern genuine.  That much she could see.
"I don't know and I really don't care.   I'll be back for my things in the morning.  You can be sure of that but anything we had is over.  Let me go now,"the tears spilling freely.
"Don't go,"he begged.
"Goodbye,"she blubbered and left the room.
He watched her walk down the hall toward the elevator.   All he could do is hope that she would come back to her senses by morning's light as he turned back into his room regretting the very thing his friends had warned him about.  He grabbed the picture she took the first night she came to see him. He'd kicked his own ass if he thought he could reach it right now but he slid down against the wall; the picture symbolically slipping out of his hand as she slipped out of his life.
