Chapter 20
He woke up stiff necked and cramped from his sleeping position on the floor. He rose from his position and plodded groggily into the bathroom. The shower's pulsating jets seemed to soothe his aching muscles but nothing could soothe his aching heart. The heart he finally gave over to one woman. The woman. The woman that takes you for who you are and not what she thinks she can turn you into. Well she hadn't exactly accepted everything but that was his fault; not hers. She slid the card in the door and heard the shower running. Good. I'll be able to get out of here sooner than later. Then she saw it. She picked up the picture lying on the floor. Could things ever be the same as they were? She wanted them to be. She lay the picture down on the bed as she went about her packing. Then she heard the click of the bathroom door. Shit! He walked out of the bathroom towel drying his hair. He draped the towel around his neck and looked up to her blank gaze across the room from his. Why'd he have to do this? All wrapped up in that towel with just a hint of the slope to his.....Oh God stop it! He noticed the drop in her gaze as he noticed her mangled golden curls draping softly over her shoulders at the cleavage of her blouse. Focus Dammit! he scolded himself."You gonna be much longer?" "Excuse me?"unable to tear her eyes away "I just wanted to know how much longer you were gonna be,"almost unable to focus himself. "I won't be in your way much longer." "Good." "Do you mind?"she addressed his state of dress. "What?" "Would you mind putting some clothes on." "It's my room. I can run around naked if I want to." "Like you would." "Just take your things and get out of here."
"Gladly!"she brushed passed him to get her toiletries. Jeez what was it he had on her? Her body was literally screaming at her to make up with him. She passed him once again and threw her make up bag in her suitcase. A smile formed upon his features. She looked up from her suitcase."What are you smiling about?" "You." "Why?" "You should see yourself running around this room right now. It's really quite a sight." "Don't even." "You were gonna leave before I got out of the shower weren't you?"he moved closer to her still very naked underneath the white cotton. "What if I was?" "Tam,"he took her hand."I can't say this enough. I am in love with you and I'm sorry I put you through this. It took you to make me see what I was doing was wrong." "I'm supposed to forgive you just like that?"her defenses slowly weakening. She just wanted to reach out and touch him all over. It had been so long since they'd been intimate. "I don't expect you to do anything right now. What happened is not gonna go away overnight." "The problem is I want to forgive you. I want things to go back to the way they were. I want to be able to share anything and everything with you like I used to." "Can we still do that?" "I don't know. Can we?"she reitterated the inquiry. "I think we can. As long as there are no more secrets between us I think we can." "So no more secrets?" "No more secrets." "I love you." "I love you too but could you put something on?" "This bothers you?" "Right now it does." "You've seen me this way before." "But never after we've fought." "This was our first fight wasn't it?" "Yes." "And you were ready to leave weren't you?" "Yes I was but I realized I didn't want to leave. I'm the girlfriend now. I can't let every little thing get to me or this is never gonna work." "So what about the towel?" "Oh....I think I have the remedy for that little intrusion,"she slipped her shoes off and ripped the towel from his waist.
