| Chapter 3 |
| She hit the up button; willing it to rush to her rescue. Hurry! Hurry! Goddammit! Before I do something really stupid! Please hurry you stupidass- "Why'd ya rush off like that?" She heard him but she tried denying he was there. "So this is the way you're gonna play it?" She accepted his presence with another bit of silence. "Okay. I guess I have no choice but to follow you on there,"he said as the door opened; letting another couple off the small compartment. Maybe if she showed no signs of interest he would give up. She stepped onto the cart and hit the number for her floor. He had made his way on shortly after her. He followed her on as he promised. No such luck. As the elevator pulled to a start, she realized that they were truly alone. Not good. "So are you going to ignore me the rest of the ride?" "Why should I pay attention to you? We're both married and we're both thinking of doing something really stupid." "I wasn't." "Bull! It was your idea to start with." He stepped toward the front of the cart and hit the emergency stop button."Let's get one thing straight. I've never cheated on my wife and I have no intention of doing so. Ever." "Then why did you suggest we leave the bar?" "Because I didn't want to get the third degree about talking to another woman if one of the guys came down." "You mean you're not allowed to talk to other women without getting tattled on?"She said disbelievingly. "It's not that. I just wanted some nice conversation without having to explain to everybody in the world why we were talking in the first place." "Sure." "You don't believe me?" "Why should I? You're just as guilty as I am." "No I'm not. You've been eyeing me like a piece of meat since we locked eyes downstairs." "Funny coming from a man that didn't even look at me before we opted to sit at a table." She'd hit a nerve. Without another word, he grabbed the back of her head and forcibly kissed her. Only, He wanted to do more. He let her go and turned back to the front of the elevator. She stumbled to the back wall; the silver metal bar her only support. She was dumbfounded. He was the good boy of the group? Those lips were lethal weapons. His tongue hadn't even found it's way in her mouth. She could only imagine what that felt like. Dammit! What was she thinking? She wasn't. He kept his back to her for fear he would do it again. In the name of all that was good and holy, what was he doing?! He couldn't help himself. He knew if turned around to look at her, he'd shove her skirt up and have his way with her right then and there. This was so wrong. He wanted her again. As in NOW! NO! He kept face forward. "You know we can't do this." "Yes." "Then why do I want to do it again?" |
