"God Sherl! I can't believe how stupid I was,"she scolded herself as she sat in her friend's home the same evening."I mean, I foolishly thought that he was gonna change after marriage. God was I a fool."

"I'm sorry Mis. I'm sorry he disappointed you. You deserve much better,"she consoled her friend with these words but deep down knew what a real bastard he was. He'd hit on her the day of their wedding.
What an asshole! She'd died if she knew but she knew that Melissa was beating herself up enough already for what she'd blinded herself to.

"What about Nick?"her brows furrowed in confusion.
"He.. Oh shit.. I don't know what he did to me."
"He didn't?"she raised her brows in inquiry.
"NO. Nothing like that but I kissed him in front of Howie because I caught Howie with yet another young girl at Nick's party the other night."
Sherl smirked.
"What are you smiling about? This is no laughing matter. My marriage is falling apart and you are laughing."
"I'm not laughing,"she burst into a fit of laughter.
"This is not funny. I broke my marriage vows."
Sherl pulled herself together."Oh honey. You didn't commit adultery. You kissed another man. I hardly call that a commitment."
"So what do you call what happened later?"
"What happened later?"
"We were talking after Howie passed out in another room and I started to feel uncomfortable so I excused myself. I went into the bathroom. I was in there for awhile because he came into check on me and the next thing I know, he had me up on the vanity with my legs wrapped around him locked in one of the most tempting situations I've been in since high school."
"Oh my god. I don't mean to downplay your distress but little Nicky's had a crush on you since the first day Howie introduced you to us all."
"Little Nicky's not so little anymore."
"So you have noticed him?"
"I won't say that I haven't but I am a married woman and that means certain things to me. I took my commitment very seriously unlike my husband."
"He probably knows you're here."
"I know but I left with a suitcase this time, not an overnight bag."
"I know sweetie. Listen, I was supposed to go out with AJ tonight but I can call and cancel if you need me to stay."
