| It was three months later and the eager young couple sat acrossed the large wooden desk from her. The young groom knowing what his friends would be producing for him and the young girl with her eyes full of gleam as their fingers wove through one anothers."Well Kristy. This is what I have laid out for the preparations of your wedding. We can go take a look at those dresses you've chosen later today and get them started and Mr. Carter,"she tried to avoid eye contact with those big seas of blue but it was useless. "Please call me Nick,"he interrupted. "Okay Nick. We are having private fittings for the tuxes for you and your groomsmen this Thursday per your schedule allowance." "We're very appreciative of your patience with our time slots." "That's quite alright. I've got plenty of preparations I can work through with Kristy here." "She's right Nick. You don't have to be here for everything. I'll just call if anything arises that needs your approval,"she kissed him reassuringly. She still couldn't help feeling jealous every time she saw a young couple so in love. "You know how crazy I am about you,"he responded."I just want everything to be perfect for our day," he returned to her. "I know and it will baby,"her hand gripping his comfortingly. Kara cleared her throat. "I'm sorry Miss Christensen. I just can't help myself,"Kristy apologized. "It 's alright but we need to take care of some paperwork. " "You will let us take this home and look it over right?"Nick inquired. "I wouldn't have it any other way." "Thank you for your time Miss Christensen and we'll see you in a couple of days." "Thank you for your time and I will see you later today Kristy,"she closed the door and exhaustedly slid down the backside of the door. Was this ever gonna end? There were only two more after this and she wished to God that one of those men would become hers. She knew better though. She couldn't have anything that good in her life with the business dealing she provided now. Who knows? Maybe he was her knight in shining armour and she just didn't know it yet. She was startled out of her trance like state from the voice on her intercom. She rose from her position."Line two for you Miss Christensen."Miss. The worst four letter word anyone could utter to her right now. "Thank you Lynette,"she responded and picked up the receiver."Kara Christensen speaking." "Miss Christensen,"the male voice drawled. "Brian. Correct?" "How'd you know?" "Your friend and his fiance' were just in here a few minutes ago." "Then I guess you know what I'm calling about?" "Yes I do." |
