| The ceremony went off without a hitch. She stood watching the joyous couple dance their first dance as husband and wife. The thought of marriage had crossed her mind more than once these days and it was because of him. Damn him! He was that everpresent nuisance you just wished you could get rid of but never could. It clung to you like the dampness of your rain soaked clothing after a monstrous thunderstorm. She surveyed the crowd from time to time making sure the video efforts were being properly recorded as family and friends celebrated in the joining of this happy couple. Again she stood and watched as the tossing of the bouquet came to pass. A young girl with dark short hair captured the prize posession after a glorious battle between her and another young lady."Hey there,"he breathed over her shoulder. She turned to find the annoyance that invaded her very thoughts every second she wasn't consumed with work. "Look, I'm sorry about what I said the last time we spoke." "No need to apologize for speaking the truth." "So you're not mad anymore?" "Never was,"she remained cool within his presence though it was nearly driving her mad just to be near him. "You certainly could have fooled me." "Then I must have." Diverting the subject he turned it to the bouquet's state of posession."You see the young lady that caught the bouquet?" "Yeah?" "She's blondie's girlfriend." "You mean the tall blonde kid?" "That's the one." "So?" "Well being a wedding planner and all, I thought you'd know what that tradition meant." "It's not necessarily true in all instances." "But don't you find for the most part that is the case." "What are you trying to get at anyway?" "Be prepared. He's gonna be the next walking down the aisle." "I'll keep that in mind. I have a question for you though now." "Shoot." "Where's your significant other?" "You mean the girl I was here with the last time somebody got married?" "I believe her name was Angela." "That's old news. She traded me in for a newer model as she put it." "I'm sorry to hear that." "I'm not. He's the one that has to put up with her incessant bitching and whining about how much money he has or doesn't have." "You are something else you know that?" "What do you mean?" "I just asked you if there was anybody else and you talk about her like you still care about what happens to her." "I do not." "I'm not assuming to know anything about you being as you won't even give me your name but I do know this, she still has a piece of your heart." "How do you do that?" "I read people for a living remember?" "I'll keep that in mind." "Maybe you should at least talk to her. Certainly can't hurt right?"stupid! stupid! stupid! You're pushing him right into the arms of another woman when he's the one you've dreamed of having all your life. |
