Houston Area Chow Rescues
Welcome to the Houston Area Chow Rescue site.
Nemo's wound - Read what "Nemo's" foster parent says about him : "I have found a young Chow mix who needs help. When I found him he had recently been shot and left in the middle of nowhere. I took him to the vet where he spent a week. The bullet passed through his back just behind his shoulders and has left him with a limp. The limp fades and worsens depending on how much resting or playing he does. This puppy is pretty young, maybe about 6 months old, and weighs 32 lbs. My vet thinks he is part Chow and part Spitz. He is very friendly and gets along great with my 2 other dogs. He loves to play with them and tries not to let his limp get in the way. This little guy really deserves a caring family who will take good care of him. He will make a great companion for a family with kids and or other dogs as well as a one dog family." ADOPTED on 1-21-04 !!!! "Chester" is a chow mix, not sure what the mix is, but he is a lovely reddish/brown color. He's approx. 9 months old and good with other dogs, may be good with older children as he loves to play. Photo will be added later "Buddy" is a chow mix, possiably GSD, he is a very nice shade of red and approx. 2 yrs. old. Buddy will need a home where his new parents don't mind that he was hit by a car and has a limp in his front leg. Photo will be added later
Lexie is a 1 yr. old red chow in need of a good home. She is housebroken and is being fostered in Kingsville, about 4 hrs. away from Houston on Hwy. 77. Those interested in Lexie need to contact her foster Judy Anthony via email "Neno" is a 5 yr. old black female who is spayed. She is owner turn in and she is a bit shy. Neno should do fine in a home where she is given lots of attention and understanding. She should do best in a home without young children. Photo coming soon These are just a few of the chows available. Since we get chows in so quickly, we sometimes have a hard time keeping this page caught up. Please contact Josie to hear about dogs not listed or those that have just arrived and will be available soon.
