I am currently seeking a job in the Philadelphia/Center City area in the field of communication arts, specifically illustration, publishing, printing and/or graphic design, which utilizes my computer skills and illustration/design experience. Willing to work part-time (including weekends) until May 2001, and full-time after May 2001.

Education

- Currently attending the University of the Arts: Senior year Illustration Program; Focusing in Children's Book Illustration. Anticipated Degree: B.F.A. Anticipated Graduation Date: May 2001.

- Attended William Tennent High School: Graduated 1997, general education, focus in art and english. Member of the student mentor program and active in school theater and stage/set design and creation.

Credits

- March 2001: Nominated for the Ted Carey Prize, an annual UArts Senior award for strong body of work and academic performance (still in adjudication).

- 1997 to Current: Awarded annual ”Promising Artist” scholarship.

Skills

Working knowledge of the following computer programs:

Mac OS: Mainly Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Quark, Macromedia Director, Macromedia DreamWeaver, Symantec Suitcase (and similar font manager programs).

Windows OS: MS Word, MS Office, Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator.

Some experience with Adobe Premiere, Bryce 3D and MS Excel. Willing and able to learn any new program required. Inquire about any other program.

Experience

June 1999 to Current: Sample Designer, L and N Sales & Marketing Inc. Hatboro, PA.

Responsibilities: Assist in design, layout and assembly of sales presentations, counter displays, side rack displays, and other graphic/text samples for a hair accessories and cosmetics company. Work with graphic designers to correctly layout and build product packaging and advertising displays, test and mock-up “die-cuts” and packaging for new products, and assist the graphics and marketing departments when needed.

April 1998 to June 1999: Assistant Senior Framer, Michaels Craft Warehouse, Feasterville, PA.

Responsibilities: Designed and assembled custom framing. My primary work involved more complicated orders with speciality mat cutting, stretching canvases and stitching/needlepoint, art preservation and conservation, and/or mounting and shadowboxing three-dimensional objects, antiques, etc. Also worked on sales and design of custom framing. Much sales counter, materials ordering and cash register experience.

July 1995 to August 1997: Window Maker, Vertical Visions, Southampton, PA.

Responsibilities: Handcrafted and assembled stained glass windows and faux “stained glass” Plexiglass windows and vertical blinds. Also assisted in custom pattern design as well as assembly.
