Without MF Order--Reputation For Fucking self-released 2002 All those naysayers from back in the day must be perplexed as hell at the impact GG Allin has had on music to this day. Many have built their sound on the foundation laid by the outlaw scumfuc throughout the years, with varying results. Without MF Order prove to be on the good side of that equation with Reputation For Fucking. This disc possesses a power and sentiment you just know the godfather would be totally onboard with. In terms of form, Without MF Order deliever pretty straightforward scumpunk. The Murder Junkies are the obvious influence for these cretins but they provide much better than a verbatim lift with Reputation For Fucking. Guitars that are often both distorted and chorused give this listen a very vintage feel, harkening back to many of the SST bands from the early to mid eighties. This disc should also appeal quite a bit to Circle Jerks fans. Reputation For Fucking's songwriting quality proves just as reliable and consistent as the band's style. Without MF Order bombard you with a mix of anti-establishment and sex-crazed bruisers over the course of this listen. There isn't much variation in tone or pacing from track to track, but that only serves to bolster the strength of the whole, in this instance. Still, "Hard On From Hell" deserves special mention for its well-implemented female background vocals. If this genre of music isn't your cup of tea, Reputation For Fucking is unlikely to change your mind. However, for those with an affinity toward this musical platform, Without MF Order offers a lot to like. Pissed and horny to the max, these guys form a fairly focused front. You know what you're getting yourself into--proceed accordingly. Score this CDr directly from WITHOUT MF ORDER |
