V/A--Out Of Focus Vol.1: A Psychedelic Fanzine Compilation |
Great comp from my buddy Csaba and the rest of the doom fanatics at Psychedelic Zine. Fourteen killer tracks, including exclusives from bands such as Dreaming, Negative Reaction, and Mirror of Deception. The Reverend Bizarre track will blow you away--it's the absolute best! This comp comes free with the 8th issue of Psychedelic which is great, as always. Score it now and tell 'em Uncle Dan sent 'ya! |
Oblivians--Best Of The Worst |
Post-breakup collection of rare, leftover, live, and radio tracks. How did this stuff not get released sooner? All killer, no filler. They were the best, no question about it. If you don't dig this, get professional help. |
OR |
Church Of Misery--Master Of Brutality |
This is the full-length debut by the Japanese buzzsaws of doom. And this is definitely DOOM--no "stoner" rocking, here. Absolutely the best Sabbath inspired riffs on the planet. You need this. |
Sour Vein--s/t |
Awesome Saint Vitus inspired riffage from Louisiana. The best sludge yet from the deep South, period. |
Doro--Calling The Wild |
Shockingly great album from the former Warlock frontwoman. Includes solid contributions from Lemmy and Slash. If given the proper chance, this album could single-handedly revive pure metal in the United States. No joke. |
Texas Terri & The Stiff Ones--Eat Shit + 1 |
Refreshing, trashy romp from the gutters of Los Angeles. This stuff could really have a wide appeal. Filled with songs that won't let go of 'ya. Their cover of "Baby Let's Twist" by the Dictators RULES!!! |
Guided By Voices--Isolation Drills |
Same as always--great! Maybe a little less quirky than past efforts but it still sounds like GBV. "Hipsters" will kill themselves looking for something to whine about--good luck! One of the best pop/rock bands ever. |
Spirit Caravan--Elusive Truth |
One of the greatest bands on the planet. Wino kills, as usual. Fantastic vocal and songwriting contributions from Dave Sherman and Gary Isom, respectively. If you still don't know, get on the ball. |
Angel Witch--s/t (re-issue) |
OH BABY!!! Killer re-ish of classic NWOBHM masterpiece, including bonus tracks. Falsetto harmony vocals, big guitars--it's all here. DEATH TO FALSE METAL!!! |
CASTLE RECORDS 2000 |
Roachpowder--Atomic Church |
Follow-up to the awesome Viejo Diablo album. A little less heavy and definitely more psychedelic, this time out. Great artwork and packaging gets this one serious bonus points. |
