Hellstomper/Before I Hang--split 7"
Proud to be Idiot   2004

Hellstomper and Before I Hang have been united on record before, thanks to their Baloney Shrapnel released split. Now, we are blessed with the second coming of that unholy, crimson-necked union, thanks to this new 7". True to form, it's all rough, ornery, and sure to not let you down.

Hellstomper kick off the festivites with their track "Long Way Back (To Louisiana)." Like the best of their efforts, and this is definitely one of them, it serves as proof that these guys are the ultimate scum rock answer to the mighty Lynyrd Skynyrd. Many other bands may try to claim that slot but Hellstomper are the real deal. This stuff is raw and unfriendly but too damn catchy for anyone to say "no" to.

Speaking of unfirendly,
Before I Hang give you a double shot of that in their two cuts, "Young Sweet and Rich" and "Hot Licks." Coming off as a cross between the Mentors and Cocknoose, this stuff isn't going to win them any friends amongst the "politically correct" out there. That's certainly the only way Before I Hang would have it, though. Bonus points go to the hilarious debutante spoken bit that kicks off this side of the platter.

As with all things good, the only complaint is it's over too soon. Still, something is better than nothing and that's more than the case when it comes to
Hellstomper and Before I Hang. So, put that bottle of Southern Comfort down just long enough to go pick up this slab. You need it as much as the booze.
