The Coffin Cheaters--Loose As A $2 Whore
Sell Your Soul   2000

If the Coffin Cheaters CD Porno Serial Killers didn't satiate your cravings for their special brand of scumpunk, fear not. This Loose As A $2 Whore EP should get you a little closer to finding your fix. Same good and nasty stuff you'd expect, just maybe a bit rougher around the edges.

Were a band of this ilk ever to have a "hit" on their hands, the A-side opening
"Let's Get Fucked Up & Have Unsafe Sex" would be it. This catchy as all get out ditty is sure to click instantly with fans of bands such as Nashville Pussy. "Gas, Grass, or Ass" follows with some cool time signature shifts, while the slopfest of "Horns Run In The Family" stays truest to the Coffin Cheaters' Mentors-meets-Candy Snatchers alchemy.

Side B first serves up the appropriately titled
"Built For Speed." This one boasts a vibe not unlike that found on the Dead Kings' earliest offerings. "Devil's Den" features an excellent sense of pacing--a cool rumble on the verses, hyper blasting bad intention on the choruses. With some tasty vocal trade offs between Jamey Coffin and Just Bob, "Happy Abortion Song" plays like some backwoods mangling of the Misfits classic "Devil's Whorehouse." "Mama's Boy" closes this slab on a nicely taunting note.

If you're new to the
Coffin Cheaters, it's hard to beat their massive Porno Serial Killers full-length as a starting point. Still, this stripped down take on what they do is very worth checking out. For fans of all the aforementioned bands, as well as Coffin Cheaters faithful who haven't yet picked this up. That Loose As A $2 Whore title fits this platter to a tee.
