Bulemics (w/Texas Terri)--"Product Of America" + 1
Scarey Records   2004

For the last several years, few have done evil, scumbaggy punk rock as well as the Bulemics. It's hard to imagine them getting any more over the top, but that's exactly what has happened on this 7", thanks to the inclusion of Texas Terri's vocal stylings on one of these two tracks. The result is rock n' roll brutality just as immense and manditory as you'd expect it to be.

Kicking off this slab is
"Product Of America." The Bulemics perform this one on their own and it turns out to be one of their best. Starting with a slow, crushing intro, then launching from out of nowhere into hyperspeed, it sets the mood perfectly. As always, it's a bad mood with these guys--this is punk rock that would rather kick you in the face than shake your hand, which is as it should be.

Closing things out is a cover of
Johnny Thunders' "Tie Me Up." The highlight of this take is Texas Terri dueting with Bulemics frontman Gerry Atric. Their voices complement eachother perfectly, making everything flow seamlessly. Texas Terri especially comes through, her voice providing the track that extra bit of snottiness and grit it needed to really be something special. You couldn't ask for more.

Folks already familiar with the
Bulemics and Texas Terri should know what a killer platter this is. Regardless, even if you're a newcomer, anyone who likes their punk rock punishing and unforgiving should gobble this 7" up. It'll definitely agree with you--no regurgitation required. Bitchin' colored vinyl makes this one twice as sweet. A real no-brainer.
