ATTACK FATAL TO FORMER CITY RESIDENT IN LOUISVILLE

Death came suddenly to Hope J. Tatum, 65, formerly of Lebanon, Sunday in Louisville, where he had been making his home for the past five or six years.  He was found dead and is thought to have suffered a heart attack.

Mr. Tatum was born and reared in this county, a son of Sam J. and Louise Kennett Tatum, deceased.  He served as custodian of the Court House for eight or 10 years before going to Louisville.  Prior to that, he was a farmer in the eastern part of the county and on a farm which he purchased on the Arbuckle Pike. 

He was married to Miss Flora Belle Stayton, who survives him.  Also suviving are two sons, Clelon and Earl Tatum, and a daughter, Miss Beatrice Tatum, all of Louisville, and six brothers.  They are Virgil, Mose and Walter B. Tatum of this county, S. R. Tatum of Lebanon, Edgar Tatum of New Haven and Clyde Tatum of Clay City, Ind.

The remains were brought to the Bosley Funeral on Monday, and funeral services were conducted there at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. G. Russell Ireland.  Burial was in the Haysville Cemetery.

             MRS. FLORA TATUM DIES
            BURIAL IS AT HAYSVILLE
Mrs. Flora Stayton Tatum, 71, Louisville, widow of Hope Tatum, formerly of this county, died suddenly Sunday at 3:30 pm at Norton Memorial Infirmary where she had undergone an operation three weeks before.  Seemingly much improved, she was ready to go home.  Death was due to a cerebral hemorrhage.  Mrs. Tatum, born Flora Stayton, was a native of Marion County and made her home here until going to Louisville about 14 years ago.  Recently she had been employed a tthe Sutcliffe Company there.  Her husband died on Christmas day, 1948.  Two sons survive, Clelon B. and Earl J. Tatum, both of Louisville, and one daughter, Mrs. R. W. Yates, Washington County.  Two sisters, Mrs. Florence Haynes, Irvington, and
Mrs. Bertha Hourigan, Lousville, and a brother, Jesse S. Stayton, Louisville, also survive, and six grandchildren.  Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at Mass Funeral Home, Louisville.  The remains were brought to Bosley Funeral Home where a prayer service was held at 2 pm Wednesday.  Burial was in Haysville Cemetery.
