| LEBANON ENTERPRISE 2/10/1922 RILEY Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Hourigan, Jr., newlyweds, have gone to housekeeping on the Rufus Hourigan property. LEBANON ENTERPRISE 4/13/1923 Mrs. J. P. Hourigan, Jr. and brother Mr. J. C. Glasscock were in Louisville Sunday to see Mr. J. P. Hourgian, Jr. who is a patient at the Naval Base Hospital. LEBANON ENTERPRISE 6/1/1923 LONG ILLNESS ENDS IN DEATH PAT HOURIGAN, WIDELY KNOWN RILEY CITIZEN, ANSWERS MASTER'S CALL BURIAL AT HAYSVILLE J. P. Hourigan, Jr., died Tuesday evening at 10 o'clock at his home at Riley after several months illness of a complication of diseases. He had been in declining health for about eight months. Mr. Hourigan was born at Riley and had been a resident of that communtiy most of his life. He was twenty-nine years of age. He was married to Miss Pauline Glasscock December 31, 1921. Surviving him are his widow, father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Hourigan, Sr., and four brothers and one sister as follows: Messrs. S. T., Fred, A. J. and R. B. Hourigan, all of this county, and Mrs. Mattie Gray, of near Harrodsburg. Mr. Hourigan was widely known in the community. He was an energetic young man and his many friends will learn with sorrow of his death. He had held several responsible positions, filling each with satisfaction and always making good. He was telegraph operator, rural mail carrier, railway mail clerk, operator in the naval radio wireless service during the World War, and for the past several years had been engaged in the mercantile business at Riley. Mr. Hourigan was a Mason and a member of Marion Commandery No. 24, Knights Templar. Early in life he united with the Haysville Baptist church in which faith he died. The funeral was held at Haysville church yesterday morning at 11 o'clock, the Rev. J. W. Martin conducting the services. Bural was in Haysville cemetery. Marion Comandery having charge of the services at the grave. |
