Hot Weelz: Koroit.

Monday 28th May - Wednesday 27th June 2001

The Project has been in operation now for quite some time, and I am pleased to announce that Hot Weelz has kicked off well. On Monday 28th May, Hot Weelz began operation out of the Koroit Civic Building, which also hosts the Koroit Library. Initial reception was quite good, with 16 people coming in to either utilise the services or find out more about the project on the first day.

During the 5 weeks we were in Koroit, we ran a total of five courses, which included two Introduction to Internet & Email, two Basic Web Design and one Introduction to Computers & the Internet. All the students had a fantastic time, and all said they thought the project was a worthwhile and fantastic venture.

We have enjoyed our stay with the people of Koroit, who have been fantastic in their support of the project. Thanks must go out especially to the staff at the Koroit Public Library and Michael & Robyn Brooks from Brooks’ Mixed Business & Deli. If the success at Koroit is anything to go by, then the project looks set to be a big winner.

We begin our operations in Caramut on Monday 9th July. Thanks must be made to the staff at the Caramut Primary School for allowing us to utilise their facilities over the next five weeks.
