| For anyone who has never heard of John Norum, he happens to be probably one of my top 5 favourite guitarists right now. He made his start in the band Europe and recorded a few albums with them, and then left the band after the On The Loose Tour, while promoting the Final Countdown album. Since then he's had an awesome Solo Career, he's played with Don Dokken on his 1990 Solo Album Up From The Ashes, and is currently The New Lead guitarist for Dokken, Replacing Reb Beach. So now that we've had a history lesson on John, here's some of his secrets. String Brand and Guage: Ernie Ball Rock And Roll Slinky (011-052) in the studio Skinny Top, Heavy Bottom (010-052) Live Live Setup: 50w Marshall head (instead of 100w) JCM800 2205 that he brought from USA is what he uses, doing 110v instead of 220v that's usual in Sweden. Hooked up to George L Cables. The old Boss DS-1 and Ibanez Tube Screamer have been replaced with Chandler Digital Echo, Boss Chorus and and old MXR Phase 90.
