| In the year 2000 AD, members of New Zealand Punk/Metal bands Nefarious, Horror Business, 1080, and Vahalla Crossroads stitched together the ultimate Rock'n'Roll Frankenstein monster, They called it Horror Story. On Halloween 2k, they recorded 17 songs that became known as the now lengendary "Monsterpiece" album, released in 2001 by local independent record label Demon Nation. Halloween 2002 saw the band back in the underground makeshift studio known as "The Dungeon" where they recorded 10 new songs and re-recorded 10 songs (from "Monsterpiece") combined with their video for "Tombstone" (made in a graveyard for a cost of $100) and fully painted colour portrait art. The band returned on Halloween 2k3 with "Graverobbers from Outter Space", the 20 track (plus enhanced video) CD released by Demon Nation / HellDoll Music. The theatrical face-painted demons also infiltrated NZ Television's "Space" and "XSTV" (including the "best of..." shows for both). As well as constant live gigs, the band's working on a new album and video(s) for an upcoming album/DVD. "Horror Story come across as a cartoon combination of Elvis and the Misfits" - Rip it Up Magazine "the spirit of the Misfits, the Ramones, Motorhead, and the Cramps is alive and well" - Real Groove Magazine "I'm reminded of a pinball machine call 'Monster Bash' where Dracula, Frankenstein, the Mummy, et. all team up for some doo-wop flavoured rockin'. Similarly, Horror Story are a rough'n'Ready 4 piece combo dressed in leather and grime with a line in B-grade dinema inspired trash-a-delic, retro rockabilly." - New Zealand Musician Magazine |
