A Pain Of Glass

I once loved the stars,
beacuse they belonged to your eyes - and mine;
I used to gaze at them every night,
when you weren't near,
reflecting light that linked us together,
winking at me as clouds pass by,
semaphoring that you think of me too.

Tonight I stare through another pain of glass,
that imprisons memories of a lost constellation
connected by our smiles, our love.
No longer visible to the naked eye,
swallowed by black holes of dilated pupils
that eats its way inside my heart,
consumed in darkness;
and the night's sky holds no guiding light
to navigate me back to shore.
