Is There Really a Point to the Gazette?
by Casey Lee Pettitt
Many people (actually nobody) ask me, "What is the point of The Horn Gazette? Nobody
reads it and it's not mass produced." Actually, there is no point. I'm just really bored
in my first period class. If you look closely, you will notice many clip art images on the
newsletter (not included in web version). Those are fillers. They take
up the room that I don't want to type in.
The Horn section really isn't that important, we just wish we were. The director never cares
about us even though we occasionally get a cool part. That brings me to my next point. If
you have anything you would like to put in the next issue, submit it to the Gazette
publisher, editor, main story writer, and Gazette supervisor, Casey L. Pettitt. Maybe
then we will have something worth while to put in and read. Please limit your article to...
wait a minute... what am I saying? Please make it as long as you want! Make sure, though,
that it pertains to the Horn section or to a member in the Section.
Thank you for reading this piece of well written junk. If you would like to make a contribution
to the 'Save the Horns Foundation,' Casey will be glad to handle the monetary issues.
"You Want Me to Write Out the Entire Score?"
by Casey Lee Pettitt
Today, one Mr. Joseph Carl, would rather have had Casey L. Pettitt write out the entire score
of O Tannenbaum than write out his part on top of fourth part. Well, not the entire score,
but you get the picture. Yes, this has nothing to do with the Horn section, but it does pertain
to two (actually one; the other was just there) Horn player. Actually, this is just a filler article.
Overview of Second Suite, Mvt. 2
by Casey Lee Pettitt
The Second movement of Second Suite in F is very pretty. Although the 3rd and 4th part got
shafted again, the 1st and 2nd make up for it in a very beautiful fashion. I like the Second
movement.
