Ingredients:
1 cup of semolina
1 cup of flour
6 eggs
3 1/2 cups of sugar
Milk
Vanilla
4 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
Lemon zest
Salt
Mix well the eggs with 1 cup of sugar for about 10'. Add gradually while you mix 4 tablespoons of milk.
Add gradually the semolina and the flour, the vanilla and some salt.
Fill a buttered oven tray with the mix and bake.
Mix the remaining sugar (2 1/2 cups) with 2 1/2 cups of water and bring to boil. Add the butter, the lemon juice and the zest to make a syrup.
When the cake is baked and while still hot pour the syrup carefully on top with a spoon and make sure all the cake is well soaked.
Leave it for a while to get cold and cut it in pieces. Decorate if you want with some crashed almonds.
