Braised Grass Carp

Ingredients:
  • 1 lb grass carp ( the pectoral part )
  • 4 oz lean pork
  • 3 mushrooms
  • 2 stalks spring
  • 2 slices ginger
  • 1 beancurd
  • 6 1 clove mashed garlic

    Seasoning:
  • 2 tsp light soy
  • 1 tsp dark soy
  • 0.5 tbsp sugar
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup water

    Sauce:
  • 0.5 tsp cornflour
  • 2 tsp water
  • dash of sesame oil
  • dash of pepper
  • Method:
    1. Wash, clean and wipe dry grass carp. Cut into large pieces. Mix well with 1 tsp light
    soy and 0.5 tbsp Shaoxing wine, in cooked oil. Drain well.
    2. Slice lean pork, mushrooms spring onion and ginger. Mix pork slices with 0.5 light
    soy and cornflour together. Cut beancurd into 8 squares.
    3. Saute mashed garlic, pork slices, mushroom and ginger with 2 tbsp oil. Add grass carp,
    beancurd squares and seasoning. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Add sauce.
    Sprinkle with spring onion. Serve hot.
