I remember that I tried having a "slush fund", but could not enforce it even tho I was a yeoman and could hold up liberty cards.  The Chief Master at Arms came up to me one day and asked "hey, Halldorson I here you have a slush fund".  I told him that I did not.  I had discontinued it week earlier.  He said, "Damn, I needed some money till payday!"

Ol' St. George had a slush fund and we would be amazed at the size of his wallet at the end of the pay line.  He went down and paid cash for a brand new 1966 impala - bright green.
