Epilogue

Kris watched as her daughter played on the floor with toy blocks. She made what she considered to be a house, and was now constructing something else.

Whatcha got there, hun? Kris asked.

Its a side road, the little girl said. See, Mommy, its a side road!

Okay honey. The girl moved from her side road to the blocks with letters on them. She started arranging them, but Kris didnt see what order they were in. Knowing three years olds, she probably would make up a word with no vowels then show it to Kris and go Look!

Mommy! Look what I did! she said, and moved out of the way so Kris could see.

Oh my God, Kris said. Lying on the floor in perfect order was her daughters name. Charisma, how did you learn to spell your name?

I seen you write it. Kris picked up her daughter.

Thats wonderful! Can you spell it for me? Do you know the letters?

Sure! C-H-A-R-I-S-M-A.

Shes got her father in her, Kris thought. Oh crap, now shes got me thinking about her father Charisma hugged her mother.

Mommy, can I ask something?

Well sure, honey. What is it?

Angies got a daddy who does stuff with her all the time. Angie says everyones got a daddy. Is Taylor my daddy?

No, hes not, sweetie.

Wheres my daddy? Kris was taken aback by the question.

I dont know, honey. I dont know.
