The Snow Leopard is a beautiful animal.
Snow leopards can reach a height of 2 feet at the shoulders and can
reach a length of 99 centimeters. The tail of the snow leopard is porportionally longer
than any other cat species of comparable size. The head is small, and the
fur is thick and insulated, keeping the cat warm in the normal below zero temperature.
Snow leopards mate in late winter, and when the cubs are born 3 months
later,in early spring, there is an abundant food supply.1-4 baby snow leopards
are born with each birth, but mostly two. These newborns will stay with their mother
until they are 18 months old. The male snow leopards are mostly solitary, only socializing
with another leopard when mating season comes around.
