Liposuction
Liposuction is a procedure in which localized deposits of fat are removed to re-contour one or more areas of the body; usually from the thighs, bottom and stomach. Unfortunately, an unwanted side effect to this procedure is the return of the fat on occasion; often ths occurs in a different area from where it was first removed.
Although there are more, the two most used techniques are Ultrasonic and tumescent and it is likely you will have one of these. The Tumescent method is the most commonly practiced technique of the two main ways of removing unwanted fat from Americans today.
Fat is removed by a smaller tube and this also helps to reduce the amount of bruising that occurs with the traditional method. Tumescent liposuction is now the procedure of choice with cosmetic surgeons because the adrenaline added to the solution used, cuts down the bleeding that normally happens.
Traditionally, areas like the thighs, back, upper stomach and hips have been hard to reach and that is where Ultrasonic liposuction is superior to Tumescent.
During the more traditional technique it is difficult for the surgeon to see where the probe is and therefore it is possible to puncture or damage internal organs. As always the best course of action for a prospective patient is to speak to the surgeon who is going the carry out the procedure and learn what method is best suited for them.
Although side-effects using liposuction are possible, serious problems are rare; whilst the risk of death is around 1 in 5,000. In order to minimize the danger, patients will have a medical to ensure their health is good so the chances of complications are reduced. Infections can occur after any surgery so some physicians prescribe an antibiotic to patients because of the importance of keeping wounds clean until they heal. Fortunately, fat removal techniques have improved a great deal in recent years.
By using a number of tiny injections, Lipo Dissolve, another process akin to liposuction, removes the fat from cellulite and related skin complaint sufferers. One other benefit of Lipo Dissolve is that it does not require any form of anesthesia and patients feel almost no pain whatsoever.
