~Background~

Thalgor would have been a pariah among his kind, if he had not been born into the family of chieftains of his clan. Even so, as a child, he found himself having difficulty fitting in among other Ogres and Ogre-Magi. His father was a Shaman by profession, and had expected Thalgor to follow in his footsteps.

However, Thalgor did not take well to the shamanic training. His curiosity held him back and he lacked the true conviction in the clan's traditions to advance. On the advice of one of his cousins, he left the clan briefly and travelled. He crossed the water to Doria, where he met a human knight named Ellis. He joined her company, and with her travelled across the frigid northlands of Kulm: Nohrd and Raevel mostly. It was while on the icy tundra of Nohrd that Thalgor had a vision given to him by the Ice Para-elemental Archomental called Cryonax, a being who was slowly ascending into the ranks of the Dark Gods. He offered Thalgor great power if he were to help him establish a fellowship on Kulm. Thalgor, feeling as though he had finally found his calling, accepted, becoming a Witch Doctor in Cryonax's service.

When he returned home, he took control of his clan from his father (by force, since his father was not quite ready to abdicate just yet), and using Ellis as his enforcer, re-shaped his clan. Once the Blackfist Ogres, under Thalgor's leadership the clan was re-named Icefist, and all the clan's shamans and witch doctors were forcibly converted to worship of Cryonax (on pain of sacrifice).

In time, Thalgor linked up with the other agents of the Dark Wrath, and earned himself a seat on the Dark Council. His goal is to unseat the Blacktooth Clan and make himself Warchief of the Hordelands.

~Known Lieutenants~

Thalgor has only a few close lieutenants, who serve him and his cause of becoming the new Warchief.

Faelimir- Thalgor's closest ally is an evil exiled pixie from Alfland. Thalgor first met Fae after he joined Ellis' company, and the two became fast friends. Thalgor is almost never without Faelimir, sitting invisibly on the Ogre-Mage's enormous shoulders.

Ellis Ardent- An Anti-Paladin from Doria, Ellis is actually an agent of Solomoriah and part of the Council of Knights. She remains in the Hordelands as a liaison between Thalgor and Solomoriah. The Icefist Clan and its allies are a source of humanoid mercenaries for the rebellion in Doria, which Ellis arranges through her relationship with Thalgor.

Xelorren- The Prime Ambassador of the Underdark city of Abstemious. Abstemious has promised to aid Thalgor by sending Grimlock thrall-armies to the surface as reinforcements when the Icefist Clan makes its move on the Blacktooth Clan.

Xiccapoctuhl- Hivelord of the Kaggash Beholders of the Underdark. Like Abstemious, Kaggash has promised reinforcements to Thalgor once his rebellion begins.

Azhir- An Amnizu Baatezu, one of the summoned fiends under Thalgor's command. Azhir is the fiend that Thalgor has placed in charge of his lower planar minions.

Grarsa- A ghost-wizard from Doria, also a minion of Solomoriah. Grarsa provides useful advice and spellpower to the Ogre-Mage chieftain whenever he should require it.

Nightshade- A vampire necromancer; also a Dorian undead minion of Solomoriah.

Whurp the Severer- Chieftain of the Amani Tribe of Trolls. Whurp and Thalgor are old friends, and so Whurp has aligned his tribe with Thalgor's interests.

~Followers~
This section is for the benefit of players wishing to create characters who are agents of Thalgor Icefist

By far, the majority of Thalgor's followers should be Ogres, Half-Ogres and Ogre-Magi from the Icefist Clan of the Hordelands. There is also a healthy representation of Trolls from the Amani Tribe, due to the close friendship between Thalgor and Whurp the Severer. Beyond that, very few members of the other Hordeland races are a part of Thalgor's conspiracy, unless they are oucasts from their clans or tribes. It should be noted that Icefist Clan Ogres, Half-Ogres and Ogre-Magi can be Witch Doctors, to a level equal to their race's Shaman level. As Witch Doctors, they are disciples of Cryonax, the Prince of Evil Ice Elementals.

Ellis, Grarsa and Nightshade represent a much smaller subset of Thalgor's followers, being Dorian members of Solomoriah's clique (both living and undead) who are present in the Hordelands to advise and assist Thalgor in his rebellion.

Mixing the above two options, some followers of Thalgor might be undead members of Hordelands races. In this case, a player must choose a race from the Hordelands page, and then one of the following undead classes:

Skeleton (become Skeleton Warriors at higher levels)
Zombie (become Zombie Lords at higher levels)
Shadow (become Shadow Fiends at higher levels)
Ghoul (become Ghoul Lords at higher levels)
Ghast
Wight
Wraith
Specter
Vampire
Ghost
Death Knight (cursed warrior)
Death Stalker (cursed rogue)
Death Adept (cursed priest)

Thalgor also retains a number of followers from the Underdark, especially Illithids, Grimlocks and Beholders, due to his alliances with Xelorren and Xiccapoctuhl.

Finally, there are also several among Thalgor's followers who are summoned fiends or extra-planar beings. Players who wish to take on the role of fiendish characters must contact the DM for special adjudication of advancement and class abilities. Alternately, the player might take up the role of a plane-touched being: a tiefling, a devilkin, a cambion or an alu-fiend.
