Mark Horton  fell in love with  Martial Arts training
as a small boy of 8 years old.

His father was in the British Air Force and so Mark moved to Asia at a very young age and it was there , in Malaysia, that he got his first taste of Kung Fu - and he hasn't stopped training since !

As a teenager , back in the UK , he continued training under private supervision of  Sifu Li He Huang (
who passed away in 1985) At that time Mark also trained with and fought for the british Lau Gar organisation.
Later Mark  continued to learn Choy Li Fut under  the late-Lee Koon Hung

Following Lee Koon Hungs'pasing Mark was accepted
as a direct student of Grandmaster Doc Fai Wong

Mark also tried a lot to study other systems too, but has always kept his roots in the Choy Li Fut Kung Fu system, and of course, yang style Tai Chi Chuan

He has very direct
lineage  to the Choy Li Fut family and  is one of the highest ranking Choy Li Fut instructors in Europe . Mark has trained  many high level students & tournament Champions  in England and Holland particularly ,but also most recently as far as India and Hong Kong.

In the HONG YING Schools Mark teaches these arts:
Choy Li Fut Kung Fu
Traditional Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan
Sanshou & Da Lo Dui (Freefight)
36 Chinese Weapons
Freestyle Point Fighting

Mark is Chief Instructor (tai-sifu) of the
Hong Ying Association , which has now grown to be a very large and successful martial Arts organisation focused on Tai Chi and Choy Li Fut and has Member schools in 8 countries.

He teaches at least 6 days per week and  is still very active in world-class competition . Most recently at the 2004 Shaolin Temple
World Traditional Wushu Championships held in Henan-China where he won 2 Medals for the Plum Blossom Federation  Team , led by Great Grandmaster Wong Gong and Grandmaster Doc Fai Wong!

Mark also  works in TV & Film, in Europe and Asia,
performing stunts and action choreography

In 2006 Mark was awarded the coveted position of Vice-Chairman to the General Peoples' Martial Arts Association of Bejing and in 2007 was asked to function as Chief Instructor to the Wushu/Kung Fu Federation of India

Mark lives in Holland , but travels regularly to teach & train at the various Hong Ying schools  in different  countries.
