WESTERN MARYLAND SCENIC RAILROAD Cont'd
FLAGS AND SMOKE - The American flags are fluttering in the breeze while the 734 puts out a dark cloud of smoke on our arrival in Frostburg.
TAKING A SPIN - The engine eases onto the turntable at Frostburg.  The turntable operator will stop it at the runaround track so that the engine will be positioned forward at the other side of the train.
TURNTABLE WITH AN AUDIENCE - The train's conductor took the role of turntable operator.  He's got a lot of spectators eyeing the operation.  He says with the new motors and controls, it's tricky to stop it at the exact spot.  Today he got it right the first time!
SERVICE WITH A SMILE - The operator is none other than Richard Markle, who happened to be the conductor a few years ago when we last rode the train.  He remembered us because I bought Charlotte a side saddle at the antique shop and we took it home on his train.  Hopefully we'll see him again on our next trip!
